Terms & Conditions

Please read this information carefully. By paying a deposit for a tour arranged by SLL Perigord Travel, you agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions and any and all rules and regulations established by SLL Perigord Travel in connection with your tour.

Tour Prices
2024 tour prices are guaranteed upon receipt of your deposit. Until then SLL Perigord Travel reserves the right to change tour prices in response to Euro/USD currency fluctuations.

Tour prices include accommodations based on double occupancy; passenger van transportation; all meals with the exception of 2 dinners in Bordeaux on the Wine Lovers Tour when guests have the evening free, sightseeing, and transfers as described; hotel taxes; entrance fees and guides for included sightseeing; and the services of our SLL Perigord Travel Tour Director.

Gratuities
Gratuities for the tour director, local guides, chauffeurs and servers are optional and should be extended on a voluntary basis at the end of your tour. We recommend 150€ total per guest/per tour to be given directly to the SLL Perigord Travel Tour Director who will distribute the gratuities among the people who have helped to make your stay a memorable one.

Not Included in Your Tour Price
Not included in your tour price are the airfare to/from France; airport transfers to/from hotels; costs of passports (and visas, if required); personal expenses such as food and beverages (other than those noted as being included); laundry (other than what is noted as being included) and room service; communication charges; optional gratuities; medical insurance and travel protection plan (recommended).

Registration and Payment
A deposit of $1,000 U.S. dollars per person confirms your reservation. Your deposit is fully refundable up to 120 days before departure. Full payment is due at least 120 days prior to departure. Deposit and remaining balance may be made by personal check, Zelle, or credit card (VISA, Mastercard, or Discover card). SLL Perigord Travel reserves the right to cancel any reservations that are not paid in full at any time after final payment is due. If you make your reservation after the final payment due date, payment in full will be required upon reservation.

Cancellations and Refunds
All cancellation requests must be submitted to us in writing via email, and the effective date of cancellation will be upon our receipt of your notification. You will receive a full refund for any cancellations made 120 days or more before departure. For cancellations made less than 120 days before departure, the following terms apply:

Prior to departure Refund Amount
120 days or more Full refund
between 119-90 days 75% refund
between 89-60 days 50% refund
between 59-30 days 25% refund
29-0 days No refund

Please note that we will not refund the cost of any unused portion of your tour package. If because of low participation SLL Perigord Travel cancels your tour, you will receive a complete refund of all payments you have made to us.

Number of Guests
All SLL Perigord Travel tours operate with a minimum of six (6) persons and a maximum of ten (10) persons. We will make every effort to operate our tours as planned, but we reserve the right to cancel any tours that have less than six (6) participants. For this reason, we recommend that you do not purchase non-refundable airline tickets or those with high penalties for changes and that you do not purchase your airline tickets earlier than three months before your tour departure date.

If your tour is cancelled by us, you will have the option of choosing another tour if there is still availability or of receiving a full refund.

Single Travelers
We welcome single travelers, and offer a limited number of single accommodations (maximum 2 per tour). Because hotel rates are priced by the room, the per-person cost for accommodations occupied by one person is higher than that shared by two people.

Please note that if your reservation changes from double occupancy to single occupancy for any reason or at any time, you will be charged the single supplement.

Child Policy
Because of the extremely limited number of guests on each tour, the minimum age for each traveler is 16 years old unless a group has reserved the full 10 places. In that case and that case only, the minimum age for each traveler is 10. All children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Note that some accommodations require that children below a certain age share a room with an adult.

A parent or guardian traveling alone with a child is recommended to carry documentation that proves their relationship to the child (e.g., birth certificate) and evidence that they have permission to travel with the child (e.g., consent letter). Guests traveling with children who are not related are recommended to carry documentation which provides evidence they have permission to travel with the child. Guests are advised to check with the appropriate government authority to determine the necessary documents required for travel with children.

Required Information
Upon reservation, we will need to obtain from you the following – your full name as it appears on your passport, date of birth, and gender.

Travel Documents
Starting in 2024, the European Union will require Americans who travel to Europe to apply for a travel authorization.  The application form, which will be available on the official ETIAS website has a fee of 7 euros and will usually be approved within minutes (though the EU strongly recommends that you apply early as it could take up to 2 weeks if further documentation is required).  ETIAS travel authorization is valid for three years or until the passport you used in your application expires, whichever comes first.

Luggage Handling
Luggage handling is not provided. Please pack accordingly. A washing machine and dryer will be available for your use mid-trip.

Smoking
For the convenience of the majority of our travelers, SLL Perigord Travel has a No Smoking policy (including e-cigarettes and vaping) on all passenger vans. We will arrange a few rest stops for those who wish to smoke.

Health and Medical Issues
Hospitalization and medical expenses are the sole responsibility of the guest. We welcome all travelers, but request that you be in good health to participate in an SLL Perigord Travel tour. Our tours involve a moderate amount of walking (typically two to three miles per day), often uphill or on uneven or cobblestone streets. Comfortable shoes are recommended.

You must be able to get on and off passenger vans on your own. We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance; in such cases you must be accompanied by a companion who will assist you. Please note that this itinerary, for reasons beyond our control, does not accommodate wheelchairs.

We reserve the right to remove anyone whose physical condition or behavior, in our opinion, compromises the operation of the tour or detracts from the enjoyment or safety of the other tour members. In that event, SLL Perigord Travel assumes no financial responsibility for any unused portion of the tour.

While we do our best to accommodate food allergy concerns, we cannot guarantee zero cross-contamination.

Travel Insurance
SLL Perigord Travel recommends that all travelers on our tours purchase international travel insurance which provides medical coverage as well as trip cancellation coverage and protection against lost, stolen or damaged luggage. Many reputable insurance companies offer travel insurance.  For a non-exhaustive list see: https://www.forbes.com/advisor/travel-insurance/best-travel-insurance/

Air Transportation
Your tour package does not include the price or booking of travel to/from France. Since air schedules are subject to change at any time, we recommend that you do not purchase non-refundable airline tickets or those with high penalties for changes. In addition, we recommend that you not purchase your airline tickets until final payment is due. SLL Perigord Travel shall not have any liability for any loss resulting from tour cancellations or changes in international gateways, travel dates, or airline schedule changes.

Promotions
SLL Perigord Travel reserves the right to modify or discontinue any promotional offers at any time. A promotional offer may not be combined with any other discounts, offers or promotions.

Special Terms Regarding COVID-19
In the event of an official COVID-19 travel restriction – whether at home or in France – which causes our cancellation of your tour, you will receive a full refund.

Official COVID-19 travel restrictions include:

  • The U.S. Department of State issues a Level 4: Do Not Travel Global Health Advisory, or the government in the guest’s country of residence restricts all but essential travel
  • The U.S. Department of State issues a Level 4: Do Not Travel due to COVID-19 for France, or the government in the guest’s country of residence issues a comparable advisory
  • France has entry restrictions in place that prohibit the guest from traveling, such as closed borders or extended quarantine requirements
  • International flights are cancelled without alternative routing available for guest to be able to reach France

Guests are responsible for non-refundable air fees, insurance and other related costs. All other standard terms and conditions apply to the booking. Special Terms are subject to change and can be withdrawn or modified at any time.
